A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-1-457 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NO SCHOOL MAY PROHIBIT A STUDENT FROM PLAYING SOCCER ON A SCHOOL TEAM IF THE STUDENT IS PLAYING SOCCER IN A PROGRAM THAT IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE SCHOOL.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-1-457. No school or school district in this State may prohibit a student from playing soccer on a school soccer team if the student is playing on a soccer team in a program that is not affiliated with the school system."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
