TO AMEND SECTION 11-35-710, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS UNDER THE PROCUREMENT CODE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ONLY EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND REPAIR OF BRIDGES, HIGHWAYS, AND ROADS ARE EXEMPT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 11-35-710(a) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181, Section 94 of 1993, is further amended to read:
"(a) the emergency construction, maintenance and repair of bridges, highways and roads; vehicle and road equipment maintenance and repair; and any other emergency type parts or equipment utilized by the Department of Transportation;"
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
