TO AMEND SECTION 61-3-461, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO RESTRICTIONS ON THE NUMBER OF RETAIL LIQUOR STORES IN WHICH A PERSON MAY HAVE AN INTEREST, SO AS TO DELETE A PROVISION WHICH STIPULATES THAT AN INTEREST OF A RELATIVE BY BLOOD OR MARRIAGE WITHIN THE SECOND DEGREE OF ANY PERSON CONSTITUTES AN INTEREST OF THAT PERSON FOR PURPOSES OF THIS RESTRICTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 61-3-461 of the 1976 Code, as amended by Section 1583 of Act 181 of 1993, is amended to read:
"Section 61-3-461. No person, directly or indirectly, individually or as a member of a partnership or an association, or as a member or stockholder of a corporation or as a relative to any person by blood or marriage within the second degree, shall have any interest whatsoever in any retail liquor store licensed under this section except the three stores covered by his retail dealer's licenses, as provided for in Section 61-3-460."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
