A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE REVEREND AND MRS. MILTON G. FRAZIER OF DARLINGTON COUNTY FOR THEIR THIRTY-SIX YEARS OF TIRELESS MINISTRY, DEDICATION, AND SERVICE TO EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH AND DARLINGTON COUNTY; TO COMMEND REVEREND FRAZIER FOR THE HONOR OF PASTOR EMERITUS BESTOWED UPON HIM BY HIS CONGREGATION; AND TO WISH THE FRAZIER FAMILY WELL AS THEY LEAVE THEIR DUTIES AS PASTOR AND FIRST LADY OF EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH.

Whereas, the community of Hartsville, the State of South Carolina, and indeed the entire nation have been truly blessed by the love, leadership, and ministry of Rev. Milton G. Frazier and Patricia A. Frazier; and

Whereas, this beautiful couple, who first met as students at Piedmont Bible College, has profoundly enriched the lives of thousands of citizens of our State through their religious teachings and Christian compassion; and

Whereas, the Fraziers were led by our Lord in the year 1958 to come to Hartsville to pastor Emmanuel Baptist Church; and

Whereas, during their thirty-six years of leadership Emmanuel Baptist Church has grown to a large congregation, has founded a Christian school to provide a superior education to our children, has tremendously expanded its outreach through home and international missions, and has sponsored a radio and television ministry that daily touches thousands of lives; and

Whereas, the leadership of the Fraziers has brought Emmanuel Baptist Church through great adversity including two catastrophic fires and other setbacks which have been overcome through Christian dedication, loving perseverance, and sheer force of will to serve our Lord; and

Whereas, in addition to their pastoral duties, the Fraziers have served as role models for all people in establishing a Christian home and in raising three children - Tim, Patricia, and Melodie, who have in turn blessed them with seven grandchildren; and

Whereas, the Fraziers have been a consistent, compassionate, and faithful example of true servants of God to the people of Emmanuel Baptist Church with a desire for reaching lost souls and preaching God's Word; and

Whereas, the Fraziers' duties at Emmanuel Baptist Church will conclude upon their reassignment in March of 1994 when they move to the state of North Carolina to undertake new ministries and challenges in service to our Lord; and

Whereas, the Fraziers' tireless ministry and dedication to serving God and the people of Darlington County have been recognized by the congregation of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Hartsville by bestowing the honor of Pastor Emeritus upon Reverend Frazier. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina:

That the members of the House of Representatives by this resolution hereby recognize the Reverend and Mrs. Milton G. Frazier of Darlington County for their thirty-six years of tireless ministry, dedication, and service to Emmanuel Baptist Church and Darlington County; commend Reverend Frazier for the honor of being named Pastor Emeritus bestowed upon him by his congregation; and wish the Frazier family well as they leave their duties as Pastor and First Lady of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend and Mrs. Milton G. Frazier, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hartsville, South Carolina.
