A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-80 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE IF THE OPERATOR IS WEARING A CERVICAL COLLAR AND PROVIDE PENALTIES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-5-80. A motor vehicle, as defined in this chapter, must not be operated upon the public roads of this State if the operator is wearing a cervical collar. A person who violates this section, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars and imprisoned not more than thirty days."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
