A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE WREN HIGH SCHOOL GOLDEN HURRICANES BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM OF ANDERSON COUNTY ON WINNING THE CLASS AAA UPPER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1994.

Whereas, the Wren High school Golden Hurricanes boys basketball team of Anderson County won the Class AAA upper state championship for 1994 by defeating an outstanding Camden High School team; and

Whereas, the Golden Hurricanes, by virtue of winning the upper state crown, advanced to the Class AAA state finals where they played the ultimate state winner, Eau Claire High School of Columbia; and

Whereas, Wren High School was truly a Cinderella team all season and finished the year with an excellent 24-6 record; and

Whereas, this was a team which never gave up on its dream and which overcame all odds to reach a level of success which no other boys team from Wren High School has ever achieved; and

Whereas, Head Coach Fran Campbell did a marvelous job of preparing the team to play each game this season, and he is truly deserving of recognition for the team's success; and

Whereas, the Golden Hurricanes' talent, drive, and determination served them well and they can be very proud of their great record and their upper state crown. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Wren High School Golden Hurricanes boys basketball team of Anderson County on winning the Class AAA upper state championship for 1994.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Wren High School boys basketball team, in care of Head Coach Fran Campbell.
