A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT, FOR THE 1993-94 SCHOOL YEAR, SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY IS EXEMPTED FROM THE REQUIREMENT THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED MUST BE MADE UP AS A RESULT OF COMPLICATIONS RESULTING FROM A SEVERE WINTER STORM.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Exempted from make-up requirement
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 59-1-430 of the 1976 Code or any other provision of law, and for the 1993-94 school year only, School District One in Spartanburg County is exempted from the requirement that school days missed because of snow or extreme weather conditions must be made up.
The provisions of this joint resolution apply only to one day, namely, Friday, January 21, 1994, which was missed because of complications resulting from a severe winter storm, and, in accordance with the provisions of this joint resolution, this one day shall not be made up.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
