TO AMEND TITLE 44, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HEALTH, BY ADDING CHAPTER 119 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR RESEARCH, DETECTION, CONTROL, AND ABATEMENT OF RADON BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL, AND TO CREATE THE RADON TRUST FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT AND FUNDED IN PART THROUGH A SURCHARGE ON LOCAL BUILDING PERMITS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding Chapter 119 relating to radon as follows:
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
