TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, RELATING TO OUTDOOR ADVERTISING AND THE HIGHWAY ADVERTISING CONTROL ACT, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1764, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Transportation, relating to Outdoor Advertising and the Highway Advertising Control Act, designated as Regulation Document Number 1764, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

These regulations explain the Highway Advertising Control Act, Chapter 25 of the South Carolina Code of Laws. The proposed regulations will add the definition for "cutouts and extensions"; correct the Department's name; amend the definitions of "sham activity" and "transient or temporary activities"; amend the standards for measuring distances between signs and issuing permits; add stipulations requiring permits for sign revisions and notification to the Department before maintaining a nonconforming sign; amend Illustration 3; and correct typographical, grammatical, and incidental errors.
