TO CONGRATULATE THE LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL WILDCATS VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM, THEIR HEAD COACH, TOMMY WILLIAMS, ASSISTANT COACH JONNY THOMPSON, PRINCIPAL JOE BEDENBAUGH, AND LEXINGTON DISTRICT I SUPERINTENDENT, DR. CHESTER FLOYD, FOR LEXINGTON'S CLASS AAAA STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO RECOGNIZE THE DEDICATION, DRIVE, AND HARD WORK OF THIS FINE TEAM OF BASEBALL PLAYERS AND THEIR COACHES.
Whereas, Lexington High School Wildcats Varsity Baseball team won the Class AAAA State Championship on Wednesday, May 25, 1994; and
Whereas, Lexington had an outstanding 28-5 season winning twenty-one of their last twenty-two games and winning the best-of-three series; and
Whereas, the Wildcats' baseball victory is their second State Championship in three years; and
Whereas, the State Championship is a true testimony to the dedication, drive, and hard work of these players and their coaches. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, hereby congratulate the Lexington High School Wildcats Varsity Baseball team, their Head Coach, Tommy Williams, Assistant Coach Jonny Thompson, Principal Joe Bedenbaugh, and Lexington District I Superintendent, Dr. Chester Floyd, for Lexington's Class AAAA State Baseball Championship and to recognize the dedication, drive, and hard work of this fine team of baseball players and their coaches.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Wildcats Varsity Baseball team in care of Head Coach, Tommy Williams, Lexington High School, Lexington, South Carolina; Joe Bedenbaugh, Principal, Lexington High School, Lexington, South Carolina; and Chester Floyd, Superintendent, Lexington School District I, Lexington, South Carolina.
