TO CONGRATULATE PROFESSOR YAKIR AHARONOV UPON HIS ELECTION TO THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES.
Whereas, Professor Yakir Aharonov is a professor of physics at The University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, he also holds a chair at Tel Aviv University in Israel; and
Whereas, Professor Aharonov is described as a world renowned expert in quantum mechanics, which underpins scholarships on how the universe is structured and operates; and
Whereas, the National Academy of Sciences is an exclusive club that bestows membership according to the soundness and value of a nominee's research and scholarships; and
Whereas, Professor Yakir Aharonov was elected to the Academy which has 1,683 members. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Professor Yakir Aharonov upon his election to the National Academy of Sciences.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Professor Aharonov.
