The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Entering the 2nd day of the Organizational Meeting of this House of Representatives, we come to You, O Lord, with the same earnestness we did yesterday in asking Your guidance. Make us wise in Your wisdom; strong in Your strength. When things are difficult, assure us of Your presence and help. Teach us that a stream would loose its song if God removed the rocks. Make us big enough to admit our mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, wise enough to correct them. May we learn our lesson from this comparison: the player who stopped on the opponent's one yard line to congratulate himself never made the winning touchdown.

Thank you, Lord, for this privilege of prayer. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
