TO CONGRATULATE MR. WILLIAM M. THWEATT, JR., UPON HIS BEING NAMED "NORTH AUGUSTA CITIZEN OF THE YEAR" FOR 1995 BY THE NORTH AUGUSTA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Mr. William M. Thweatt, Jr., has been named "North Augusta Citizen of the Year" for 1995 by the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce; and
Whereas, Mr. Thweatt is a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church and a constant volunteer for activities, from helping at Bible School to church leadership positions. He is a Grace United Methodist Church mentor at North Augusta Elementary School, an outreach program of the church; and
Whereas, he helped install the first electric scoreboard while a volunteer in the Dixie Youth Baseball program where he devoted many hours working with these young athletes; and
Whereas, Bill Thweatt delivers meals to a group of homebound citizens and is always on time and ready with a few kind words for those receiving meals through the Council on Aging; and
Whereas, he is also an active civic and political leader in North Augusta where he has served as a poll worker, a member of the election commission, a member of the Exchange Club of North Augusta, and a sponsor of a number of cultural concerts; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to congratulate this truly outstanding South Carolinian on the occasion of his receipt of this truly deserved honor. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Mr. William M. Thweatt, Jr., upon his being named "North Augusta Citizen of the Year" for 1995 by the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. William M. Thweatt, Jr.
