A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. LARRY HINES OF PORT ROYAL, SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON RECEIVING THE 1995 SOUTH CAROLINA HOSPITALITY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that the South Carolina Association of Tourism Regions and the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism presented the South Carolina Hospitality Employee of the Year Award for 1995 to Mr. Larry Hines of Port Royal, South Carolina at the South Carolina Governor's Conference on Tourism and Travel; and

Whereas, the purpose of the South Carolina Hospitality Employee of the Year Award is to recognize outstanding employees in the hospitality and tourism industry who are in contact with and assist the many tourists visiting our state each year; and

Whereas, the tourism industry is an integral component of this state's economy generating millions of dollars in revenue annually; and

Whereas, it is of paramount importance that tourists visiting our state are made to feel welcome and receive a lasting and positive impression of the many fine attractions our state has to offer; and

Whereas, Mr. Hines epitomizes the virtues of kindness and friendliness and exhibits a positive attitude accompanied by a willingness to go above and beyond the parameters of his job responsibilities to assist visitors and boaters traveling along the intracoastal waterway near Port Royal twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; and

Whereas, Mr. Hines has truly been a credit to the citizens of South Carolina and the tourism industry through his service and loyalty. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. Larry Hines of Port Royal, South Carolina, on winning the 1995 South Carolina Hospitality Employee of the Year Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Hines.
