A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MR. MOUBRAY BEATY, A PROMINENT ROCK HILL REALTOR AND DEVELOPER, UPON HIS DEATH.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the recent death of Mr. Moubray Beaty, a prominent Rock Hill realtor and developer, at the age of eighty-one; and

Whereas, Mr. Beaty was a respected and innovative real estate developer having been instrumental in the development of both commercial and residential projects throughout Rock Hill and York County; and

Whereas, in addition to being active on his own behalf, he also served the real estate profession in many varied capacities. He was a former president of the Rock Hill Board of Realtors, a member of the Rock Hill Planning Commission where he helped enact initial zoning laws for the city, and helped with a number of highway and transportation projects including being the Rock Hill representative when I-77 was built; and

Whereas, Mr. Beaty served his country in World War II as a member of the 86th Infantry Division and received two Bronze Stars for meritorious achievements and for combat; and

Whereas, he was also an active community and civic leader in Rock Hill and served as a lifetime member of the Board of Visitors of Davidson College from which he graduated; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to his family and many friends upon the death of this truly fine man. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Moubray Beaty, a prominent Rock Hill realtor and developer, upon his death.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to

his family.
