A BILL

TO AMEND CHAPTER 21, TITLE 24 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT PAROLE IS HEREBY ABOLISHED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 21 of Title 24 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding a new appropriately numbered Section:

"Section . Parole is hereby abolished."

SECTION 2. The Code Commissioner is empowered and directed to conform all code sections which are inconsistent with this act and report any modifications, additions, or deletions and the basis for any such modifications, additions, or deletions to the House Judiciary Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

SECTION 3. This act takes precedence and supersedes any provision of law relating to parole which is inconsistent with this act.

SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
