A BILL

TO AMEND ARTICLE 9, CHAPTER 25, TITLE 11, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLICATIONS, BY ADDING SECTION 11-25-630 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE READING AND DISCUSSION FROM THE SENATE JOURNAL IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, LIBRARIES, AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 25, Title 11 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 11-25-630. (A) The discussion and reading, verbatim or in paraphrased form, silently, or audibly, of any or all portions of the Senate Journal is permissible by any student, teacher, professor, or administrator, individually or in groups, in any auditorium, room, or any part of any building in any school, college, university, or any public building within the State of South Carolina.

(B) The Senate Journal may be publicly displayed and made available to any person requesting such in any school, college, university, public, or other library within the State."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
