A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROPRIATE FROM FISCAL YEAR 1993-94 SURPLUS REVENUES ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE THE FUTURE OPERATION OF THIS STATE'S MILITARY BASES AND OTHER NATIONAL DEFENSE FACILITIES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. To the extent fiscal year 1993-94 surplus revenues are available, there is appropriated from the general fund of the State one million five hundred thousand dollars to the Office of Local Government of the State Budget and Control Board for use in ensuring that military bases and any other national defense facilities in this State are not adversely impacted by the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-510). These funds may be expended pursuant to criteria developed by the board. Unexpended funds from this appropriation lapse to the general fund of the State when the board determines the funds are no longer needed.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
