TO AMEND SECTION 56-3-620, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE FOR PRIVATE PASSENGER-CARRYING VEHICLES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE FEE OF TEN DOLLARS ANNUALLY IS AUTHORIZED FOR A PERSON SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WHO LEASES A VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 56-3-620(A) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Section 22H, Part II, Act 164 of 1993, is further amended to read:
"(A) For persons sixty-five years of age or older, or persons who are handicapped, as defined in Section 56-3-1950, the biennial registration fee for every private passenger-carrying vehicle, whether owned or leased by that person, is twenty dollars."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
