TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, RELATING TO DISQUALIFICATION AND SUSPENSION FROM PARTICIPATION IN CONTRACTS WITH THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1772, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Transportation, relating to disqualification and suspension from participation in contracts with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, designated as Regulation Document Number 1772, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The proposed regulation will replace current Department of Transportation Regulations 63-309 and 63-310. The new regulation states the underlying policy of the regulations, provides definitions of the terms used in the regulations and more clearly defines the criteria and procedures for disqualification and suspension of contractors from participation in Department of Transportation contracts.
