A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE BEST WISHES AND HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR. RYAN BAILEY OF SUMTER COUNTY UPON WINNING THE STATEWIDE COMPETITION TO DESIGN THE INAUGURAL LOGO EMBLEM "PUTTING FAMILIES FIRST" FOR NEWLY-ELECTED GOVERNOR DAVID M. BEASLEY.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note with great pride the recent honor bestowed upon Ryan Bailey, who won the statewide competition for designing the Inaugural Logo Emblem "Putting Families First"; and

Whereas, there were thousands of entries from children all over South Carolina and Ryan's winning art work logo won the statewide contest; and

Whereas, Ryan Bailey is a third grader from Alice Drive Elementary School in Sumter County; and

Whereas, Ryan is an outstanding nine-year old youngster with great talents, ideas, and potential; and

Whereas, he is the son of Greg and Melissa Bailey and has a brother named Kevin, who also attends Alice Drive Elementary School; and

Whereas, he was a special Inaugural guest and part of the Inaugural Procession, accompanied by his family, on January 11, 1995 ; and

Whereas, twenty-one of his classmates, chaperones, and teacher, Donna Hoskins, were in the crowd wearing buttons sporting the "Putting Families First" Logo Ryan had created for the Inaugural activities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Mr. Ryan Bailey of Sumter County upon winning the Statewide Competition to Design the Inaugural Logo Emblem for "Putting Families First" for newly-elected Governor David M. Beasley.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ryan Bailey.
