A BILL

TO REPEAL ACT 69 OF 1963, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF THE RICHLAND COUNTY HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AND DEVOLVE ITS DUTIES, POWERS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES ON THE GOVERNING BODIES OF RICHLAND COUNTY AND THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, AND AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSION TO CONVEY PROPERTY TO THE COUNTY AND CITY BY RESOLUTION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. (A) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 4-9-80 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, Act 69 of 1963 is repealed and the duties, powers, and responsibilities of the Richland County Historic Preservation Commission are devolved on the governing bodies of Richland County and the City of Columbia.

(B) The Commission is authorized, by resolution, to convey property to Richland County and the City of Columbia.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
