TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 2-19-90 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM CASTING A VOTE FOR HIMSELF IN AN ELECTION IN WHICH HE FILES AS A CANDIDATE FOR AN OFFICE WHICH IS ELECTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 2-19-90. No member of the General Assembly may cast a vote for himself in an election in which he files as a candidate for an office which is elected by the General Assembly."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
