TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 38-33-75 SO AS TO REQUIRE ALL HOSPITAL BASED HEALTH CARE SERVICES AND ALL HEALTH CARE SERVICES OFFERED IN OR THROUGH A HOSPITAL PROVIDER UNDER A HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION (HMO) ALSO MUST BE PROVIDERS UNDER THAT HMO.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 38-33-75. All hospital based health care services and all health care services provided to patients in or through a hospital, which is a provider under a health maintenance organization, also must be providers under that health maintenance organization."
SECTION 2. All hospital based health care services and all health care services provided in or through a hospital provider under a health maintenance organization have one year from this act's effective date to comply with Section 38-33-75, as added by Section 1 of this act.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
