A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE DEBRA TEMPLIN, A TEACHER AT NEWBERRY MIDDLE SCHOOL, UPON BEING NAMED AS STATE TEACHER OF THE YEAR FOR 1995.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Debra Templin, a teacher at Newberry Middle School, has been named State Teacher of the Year for 1995; and

Whereas, she is a native of Prosperity and has taught at Newberry Middle School for fifteen years. Her love and zeal for teaching is perhaps best exemplified by the fact that her students consistently indicate that they are having a tremendous amount of fun while at the same time learning great amounts of reading, math, science, and social studies; and

Whereas, her gift of getting the best out of each student regardless of ability or skill level is a talent that helps make her one of South Carolina's most distinguished educators; and

Whereas, Debra Templin will travel around the State and promote education for a year beginning in June, and she will also compete for National Teacher of the Year; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this truly outstanding lady upon her being named as State Teacher of the Year for 1995. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Debra Templin, a teacher at Newberry Middle School, upon being named as State Teacher of the Year for 1995.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Templin.
