A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CELEBRATE THE HISTORY AND TRADITION OF THE EBENEZER METHODIST CHURCH OF BOWMAN ON THE OCCASION OF ITS CENTENNIAL ON NOVEMBER 5, 1995.

Whereas, according to the Centennial of the Southern Christian Advocate of June 24, 1937, the Ebenezer Methodist Church of Bowman was founded in 1832; and

Whereas, there are amusing and informative excerpts from an old Charge Conference record book with minutes from January 7, 1894 through February 17, 1918, relating the day-to-day activities of the church; and

Whereas, no matter how much time changes the community or the appearance of the church, the spirit of Ebenezer has always been found within her people;

Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, celebrate the history and tradition of the Ebenezer Methodist Church of Bowman on the occasion of its Centennial on November 5, 1995.
