A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO RELOCATABLE CLASSROOMS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1765, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to relocatable classrooms, designated as Regulation Document Number 1765, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are disapproved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The existing S.C. Guide and Minimum Specifications for Relocatable Classrooms was adopted in 1966. Its contents do not reflect contemporary construction codes, standards, products and materials, nor the provisions of the Modular Building Act of 1984. The 1994 South Carolina Minimum Specifications Guide for Relocatable Classrooms, adopted by reference in Regulation 43-191, will replace the 1966 Guide in its entirety.
