A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-63-75 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF THIS STATE WHICH SERVE A HIGH-RISK STUDENT POPULATION AS DETERMINED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF YOUTH SERVICES, MENTAL HEALTH, AND HEALTH SHALL VISIT SUCH SCHOOLS ONE FULL DAY EACH MONTH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND CONSULTATIONS IN THEIR PARTICULAR AREAS TO INTERESTED STUDENTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-63-75. In secondary schools of this State which serve a high-risk student population as determined by the State Department of Education, representatives of the Departments of Youth Services, Mental Health, and Health shall visit such schools one full day each month during the school year to provide services and consultations in their particular areas to interested students."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
