A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 12-21-2793, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DISTANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PLACEMENT OF VIDEO GAMES WITH A FREE PLAY FEATURE TO SCHOOLS, PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, AND HOUSES OF WORSHIP, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IN THE CASE OF HOUSES OF WORSHIP, THE MINIMUM DISTANCE REQUIREMENT MUST BE MEASURED FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE DOOR OF THE LOCATION WHERE THE MACHINE IS LOCATED TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE DOOR OF THE HOUSE OF WORSHIP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 12-21-2793 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 164 of 1993, is amended by adding at the end:

"For purposes of the location requirements of this section, distance from a machine location to a house of worship must be measured from the main entrance door of the location to the main entrance door of the house of worship."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
