A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING AL ROEBUCK, VARSITY BASEBALL COACH AT CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL, ON BEING SELECTED "SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL COACH OF THE YEAR" IN 1994.

Whereas, Al Roebuck, varsity baseball coach at Clinton High School, has been selected "South Carolina High School Baseball Coach of the Year" for 1994 by the South Carolina High School Coaches Association; and

Whereas, Coach Roebuck is a graduate of Clinton High School and of Newberry College, where he was an outstanding student and athlete; he quarterbacked an undefeated state championship football team at Clinton High in 1977; and

Whereas, as baseball coach at Clinton High, his teams have had a losing record only once in five years; and

Whereas, in 1994, Coach Roebuck guided a young Clinton Red Devils baseball team to a 19-8 record and the Peachblossom Conference Championship and also the District 1 title, making him richly deserving of the honor of Coach of the Year; and

Whereas, in addition to possessing superb coaching skills, he is a fine young man who sets an excellent example of good citizenship for young people; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are delighted to have this opportunity to accord special recognition to such an outstanding individual. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Al Roebuck,varsity baseball coach at Clinton High School, on being selected "South Carolina High School Baseball Coach of the Year" in 1994.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Al Roebuck.
