A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING THE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONIES OF SEKIDO TECHNOLOGIES, INC., IN PICKENS COUNTY ON APRIL 26, 1995, AND EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE COOPERATIVE EFFORT THAT MADE THIS INVESTMENT A REALITY.

Whereas, Sekido Technologies, Inc., will celebrate its formal groundbreaking for its plant on April 26, 1995, at the intersection of Highway 81 and I-85 in Pickens County; and

Whereas, Sekido is a Japanese firm founded after World War II; and

Whereas, this cold forge metal forming industry will be situated on seven acres of land, will employ approximately twenty employees initially, and will be a five million dollar capital investment; and

Whereas, the Chairman of the Board for this operation is Shinji Sekido and his brother, Takashi Sekido, is President; and

Whereas, this plant is the result of a cooperative effort of citizens of Pickens County as well as state and local leaders; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to take this opportunity to welcome Sekido Technologies to the State of South Carolina and to recognize the cooperative effort of local and state leaders and citizens in bringing this industry to Pickens County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize the groundbreaking ceremonies of Sekido Technologies, Inc., in Pickens County on April 16, 1995, and express appreciation for the cooperative effort that made this investment a reality.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Shinji Sekido and Takashi Sekido.
