A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING JOHN E. WALL OF BISHOPVILLE FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO PUBLIC EDUCATION AS SUPERINTENDENT OF THE LEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND EXTENDING HIM BEST WISHES FOR HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, John E. Wall of Bishopville received a B. S. degree from Clemson University and a M. Ed. degree from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mr. Wall was a vocational agriculture teacher at Buford High School in Lancaster County from 1958-71; and

Whereas, he was an agent for Palmetto State Life Insurance County from 1971-73; and

Whereas, he served as the Lancaster County Superintendent of Education from 1973-81, was principal of Buford High School from 1981-82, and has served as the Superintendent of the Lee County School District since 1982; and

Whereas, he is a highly respected and admired professional educator and administrator, maintains many prestigious professional memberships, and has given most generously of his time, talents, and energy to the community in many ways over the years; and

Whereas, he is retiring this year as Superintendent of the Lee County School District and his leadership and contributions to public education in this position merit the commendation and thanks of the members of the General Assembly and all the citizens of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks John E. Wall of Bishopville for his outstanding leadership and contributions to public education as Superintendent of the Lee County School District and extends him best wishes for happiness and success following his retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Wall.
