A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING PELION HIGH SCHOOL OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON WINNING THE 1995 CLASS A GIRLS SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, Pelion High School of Lexington County celebrated in a big way recently as the school's girls softball team won the school's first-ever state title by beating defending champion Landrum High School 5-1 in the Class A state championship series; and

Whereas, the Pelion Lady Panthers were guided during the 1995 season by Head Coach Bruce Dingler, one of the state's most talented softball coaches; and

Whereas, the Lady Panthers' dedication, hard work, unity, and obvious talent all combined to propel them to this year's state softball title; and

Whereas, winning a state championship is a tremendous accomplishment and the Lady Panthers of Pelion High School are greatly deserving of recognition for their success. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Pelion High School of Lexington County on winning the 1995 Class A Girls Softball State Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the girls softball team of Pelion High School, in care of Head Coach Bruce Dingler.
