A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-41-105 SO AS TO PROHIBIT AN ABORTION UNLESS IT IS NECESSARY TO SAVE THE LIFE OF THE WOMAN OR IF THE WOMAN IS PREGNANT AS A RESULT OF RAPE OR INCEST.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-41-105. Notwithstanding provisions of this chapter or any other provision of law, no abortion may be performed on a woman, including a minor, unless an abortion is necessary to save the life of the mother or the woman is pregnant as a result of rape or incest."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
