TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO HIS DEVOTED WIFE, MARION GRAHAM MURRY, OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, AND THE MANY FRIENDS OF MR. HERSHEL A. MURRY OF CHAPIN WHO DIED SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 1996.
Whereas, Mr. Hershel A. Murry of Chapin died Saturday, January 13, 1996; and
Whereas, a native of Bearden, Arkansas, Mr. Murry was the son of the late H. Jewel and Myrtle Colvert Murry; and
Whereas, Mr. Murry, who served his country with distinction both in World War II and the Korean War, retired in 1968 as Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army after twenty years of Honorable Service; and
Whereas, during his very active and productive business life in Chapin, Mr. Murry was the owner and operator of Murry's Garden Center, Murry's Restaurant, and Murry's Texaco and was last retired in 1988 from his private business at Murry's Factory Outlet; and
Whereas, known for his dedicated service and commitment to the Chapin community, Mr. Murry was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rites, Jamil Shrine, Chapin Ruritan Club, Chapin Merchants Association, and the Chapin United Methodist Church. Active in the Chapin Republican Precinct, Mr. Murry was a personal friend of Representative David Wright, and his tireless efforts on behalf of Governor Carroll Campbell in 1986 resulted in the largest margin of victory of any precinct in the State. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives express their deepest sympathy to his devoted wife, Marion Graham Murry, other family members, and the many friends of Mr. Hershel A. Murry of Chapin who died Saturday, January 13, 1996.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Marion Graham Murry.
