A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING EDNA MAE BRUNSON EAGERTON OF CLARENDON COUNTY ON HER SELECTION AS SOUTH CAROLINA'S "MOTHER OF THE YEAR".

Whereas, Edna Mae Brunson Eagerton of Summerton, Clarendon County, has been selected as South Carolina's "Mother of the Year"; and

Whereas, she is married to Robert Samuel Eagerton, Sr., and she has always been a very devoted, dedicated mother; she and her husband sent all five of their children to Clarendon Hall Academy in Summerton and all five to college (one is a Clemson graduate and four are University of South Carolina graduates); and

Whereas, Mrs. Eagerton's children are:

(1) Robert S. Eagerton, Jr., M.D., a family practice physician in Summerton, the father of three, and married to Bonnie Martin Eagerton, a registered nurse, who is also from Summerton;

(2) Susan Margaret Eagerton, who graduated from Clemson University in history; she is a full-time L.P.N., a tutor in math, a volunteer firefighter, an E.M.T. volunteer for Clarendon County and an E.M.T. instructor;

(3) Donald Eagerton, an endocrinologist at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and married to Janice Gregory, a math teacher in Berkeley County;

(4) David Eagerton, M.D., a forensic toxicologist at SLED and part-time instructor at the University of South Carolina in Columbia; he is married to Susan Hutto, a pharmacist at Richland Memorial Hospital; and

(5) Roberta Elizabeth Eagerton Prevatte, mother of two, a medical secretary and recordskeeper at Providence Hospital in Columbia and married to John Prevatte, chief of purchasing at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia; and

Whereas, Mrs. Eagerton is a truly outstanding person; she has been active for years in Summerton United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the American Legion Auxiliary; she gives warmth, compassion, and understanding to everyone and exudes great charm and a zest for living; and

Whereas, Clarendon County and the entire Palmetto State are honored to have her as South Carolina's "Mother of the Year", an award she so richly deserves. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Edna Mae Brunson Eagerton of Clarendon County on her selection as South Carolina's "Mother of the Year".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Eagerton.
