TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF CLEMSON UNIVERSITY, STATE CROP PEST COMMISSION, RELATING TO DESIGNATION OF PLANT PESTS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1889, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of Clemson University, State Crop Pest Commission, relating to designation of plant pests,, designated as Regulation Document Number 1889, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

The State Crop Pest Commission is designating certain organisms as plant pests, that is, organisms that directly or indirectly may injure or cause disease or damage in plants (or their products) and which may be a serious agricultural threat to the State. These organisms are already listed as noxious weeds pursuant to state and federal regulation or for which a domestic quarantine has been imposed pursuant to 7CFR part 301.
