A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING SWANSEA HIGH SCHOOL OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON THE SCHOOL'S VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM BEING NAMED THE BEST IN THE SOUTHEAST BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Whereas, the vocational education program of Swansea High School of Lexington County has been named the Southeast's best by the United States Department of Education; and

Whereas, the school recently learned that it had won the United States Secretary of Education's Award for Outstanding Vocational Technical Education Program for the Southeast region; and

Whereas, Swansea's Tech Prep program integrates both vocational and academic instruction, according to Mr. Larry Rabon, the school's principal; and

Whereas, Dr. Frank Vail is the school district's superintendent, and Sandy Sarvis is the district assistant superintendent; and

Whereas, only ten such schools were honored nationwide; and

Whereas, this is a superb honor for this truly outstanding high school and it is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Swansea High School of Lexington County on the school's vocational education program being named the best in the Southeast by the United States Department of Education.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Swansea High School, in care of Mr. Larry Rabon, principal, and to the school district central office, in care of Dr. Frank Vail, superintendent.
