TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-40, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MATTERS EXEMPT UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT, SO AS TO EXEMPT THE NAME, ADDRESS, AND TELEPHONE NUMBERS OR OTHER SUCH INFORMATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL OR INDIVIDUALS FROM DISCLOSURE WHEN THE INFORMATION IS REQUESTED FOR COMMERCIAL SOLICITATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 30-4-40(a), as last amended by Act 1 of 1995, is further amended by adding an appropriate numbered item to read:
"( ) The name, address, and telephone number or other such information of an individual or individuals when the information is requested for commercial solicitation."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
