A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 23-1-225 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN DIVISIONS OF STATE GOVERNMENT ARE PROHIBITED FROM ENFORCING TRAFFIC LAWS WHILE USING UNMARKED PATROL VEHICLES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 23-1-225. A department, agency, municipality, or county which has the responsibility of enforcing traffic laws may not enforce these laws while using unmarked patrol vehicles."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
