A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE EMPLOYEES OF SOUTH CAROLINA ELECTRIC & GAS COMPANY FOR THEIR SELFLESS EFFORTS AND ASSISTANCE TO GLOVERVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF AIKEN COUNTY BY ENSURING THAT LIGHT POLES AND LIGHTS WERE INSTALLED FOR THE SCHOOL'S WALKING TRACK.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud that in South Carolina selfless actions can be accomplished by the combination of a good cause and organization; and

Whereas, the walking track at Gloverville Elementary School of Aiken County was in need of lights in order to be effectively utilized by the school and the community at large; and

Whereas, Jeffrey N. Thordahl of SCANA Corporation is to be highly commended for helping to achieve this goal for Gloverville Elementary School through his belief in community involvement and cooperation; and

Whereas, our heartfelt thanks go to Mike Mock and Jerry Wilkins of South Carolina Electric & Gas Company for installing the light poles and lights for the walking track; and

Whereas, we commend Dwight E. Smith, Principal of Gloverville Elementary School, for his support and encouragement in fulfilling this need for the school and the community; and

Whereas, we are proud of companies such as South Carolina Electric and Gas Company that are willing to give back to the community and improve the way of life for all of our citizens. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives express appreciation to the employees of South Carolina Electric & Gas Company for their selfless efforts and assistance to Gloverville Elementary School of Aiken County by ensuring that light poles and lights were installed for the school's walking track.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jeffrey N. Thordahl of SCANA Corporation, Mike Mock and Jerry Wilkins of South Carolina Electric & Gas Company, and Dwight E. Smith, Principal of Gloverville Elementary School.
