A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-350, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN LANCASTER COUNTY, SO AS TO REDESIGNATE THE PRECINCTS AND ADD AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT DESIGNATION WHICH IS MAINTAINED AND KEPT ON FILE WITH THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE PRECINCTS IN LANCASTER COUNTY BE ESTABLISHED BY THE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND VOTER REGISTRATION SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL BY A MAJORITY OF THE LANCASTER COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-350 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 7-7-350. (A) In Lancaster County there shall be are the following voting precincts:

Antioch;

Belaire;

Camp Creek;

Carmel;

Charlesboro;

Chesterfield Avenue;

Dixie;

Douglas;

Dwight;

Elgin;

schoolhouse at Erwin Farm;

Flat Creek;

Flint Ridge;

Fork Hill;

Gooch's Cross Road;

Heath Springs;

Hyde Park;

Jacksonham;

Kershaw Mill;

Kershaw No. 1;

Kershaw No. 2;

Kershaw Health Center E. Lancaster;

Kershaw North;

Kershaw South;

Lancaster East;

W. Lancaster;

Lancaster West

Linwood Lynwood Drive;

Midway;

Oak Ridge;

Pleasant Hill;

Pleasant Valley;

Primus;

Rich Hill;

Riverside;

Springs Mill No. 1;

Springs Mill No. 2;

Spring Hill;

Tabernacle;

Three-C;

Tradesville;

Union;

Unity;

Van Wyck;

Welsh's; and

Wylie Park.

(B) The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the clerk of court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission as provided and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-5796.

(C) The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Lancaster County Board of Elections and Voter Registration subject to approval by a majority of the Lancaster County Legislative Delegation."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect January 1, 1997.
