SALUTING AND THANKING ROBERT SIDNEY GREEN SMITH FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND WISHING HIM SUCCESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, Robert Sidney Green Smith has been a valued, admired, and respected member of the staff of the House of Representatives for the past five years while he has been completing his college education and graduate studies at the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Sidney Smith has earned the respect of his peers and of the members of the House, who have depended upon him during his tenure here; he has been a true friend to the members of this body, and his service is deeply appreciated and will be long remembered; and
Whereas, as he leaves to begin his studies to become a physician at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, he follows in the footsteps of his beloved and respected grandfather, Dr. Charlie Dorn Smith, Sr., and his aunt, Dr. Kate Smith, both of whom are alumni of MUSC; his brother, Dr. Dorn Smith, is a surgeon in Columbia and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine; and
Whereas, the members of the House wish Sidney Smith the very best in his studies and are thankful for the service he has rendered, above and beyond the call of duty on so many occasions. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, salute and thank Robert Sidney Green Smith for his dedicated service to the House of Representatives and wish him success in his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Robert Sidney Green Smith; to his parents, the Honorable and Mrs. Charlie Dorn Smith, Jr.; to his aunt, Dr. Kate Smith; to his sister, Mrs. Dixie Smith Bullock; and to his brothers, Dr. Dorn Smith, Mr. Andy Smith, and Mr. Ralston Eugene Smith III.
