A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-95 SO AS TO LIMIT THE TERMS OF ALL CHAIRMEN OF THE STANDING COMMITTEES OF THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO EIGHT CONSECUTIVE YEARS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 2-1-95. No committee chairmen of the standing committees of the Senate and House of Representatives may serve more than eight consecutive years in that capacity."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
