AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 40-36-150, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST LICENSURE AND USE OF THAT TITLE, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISIONS REGARDING ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF LICENSURE TO FOREIGN TRAINED PERSONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Temporary licensure to foreign trained occupational therapists deleted
SECTION 1. Section 40-36-150 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 40-36-150. (A) The board shall issue a license to a person who meets the requirements of this chapter upon payment of the license fee prescribed.
(B) A person who is issued a license as an occupational therapist may use the words `occupational therapist', `licensed occupational therapist', or `occupational therapist registered' or may use the letters `O. T.', `L. O. T.', or `O. T. R.' in connection with the person's name or place of business to denote registration under this chapter.
(C) A person who is issued a license as an occupational therapy assistant may use the words `occupational therapy assistant', `licensed occupational therapy assistant', or `certified occupational therapy assistant' or may use the letters `O. T. A.', `L. O. T. A.', or `C. O. T. A.' in connection with the person's name or place of business to denote registration under this chapter."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
