A BILL

TO AMEND TITLE 44, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HEALTH, BY ADDING CHAPTER 76 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSED DIETICIAN AND NUTRITIONIST ACT, INCLUDING PROVISIONS FOR DEFINITIONS, PROVIDING FOR THE ADVISORY BOARD OF DIETETICS AND NUTRITION, ESTABLISHING THE DUTIES OF THE BOARD, PROVIDING FOR THE PRACTICE OF DIETETICS AND NUTRITION AND THE USE OF THE TITLE "LICENSED DIETITIAN" AND "LICENSED NUTRITIONIST", PROVIDING FOR LICENSURE AND EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS, PROVIDING FOR THE CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH A PERSON MAY PRACTICE WITHOUT EXAMINATION; AND ESTABLISHING THE PUNISHMENT AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"CHAPTER 76

Licensed Dietician and Nutritionist Act

Section 44-76-10. The Licensed Dietician and Nutritionist Act is enacted as follows:

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
