A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 42-7-210 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR RECORDS OF THE STATE ACCIDENT FUND TO BE SUBJECT TO DISCLOSURE UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT WITH NO EXEMPTIONS; AND TO REPEAL SECTION 42-19-40, RELATING TO THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE RECORDS OF THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION COMMISSION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 42-7-210. Records of the State Accident Fund are subject to disclosure under Chapter 4 of Title 30, the Freedom of Information Act, and are not exempt under Section 30-4-40."

SECTION 2. Section 42-19-40 of the 1976 Code is repealed.

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
