A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 1-23-520, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGES, BY PROVIDING THAT A CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS AS SET FORTH IN ARTICLE V OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THIS STATE AND AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 1-23-520 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 1-23-520. No person is eligible for the office of law judge of the division who does not at the time of his election meet the qualification qualifications for justices and judges as set forth in Article V of the Constitution of this State and as otherwise provided by law."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
