RECOGNIZING AND THANKING THE HONORABLE JULIEN WEINBERG, JUDGE OF PROBATE OF CLARENDON COUNTY, FOR HIS DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AND WISHING HIM HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT FROM OFFICE.
Whereas, the honorable Julien Weinberg, Judge of Probate of Clarendon County, has announced his retirement after holding this office for more than ten years; and
Whereas, Judge Weinberg's retirement will take effect May 30, 1995; and
Whereas, Judge Weinberg was Clarendon County's first full-time probate judge when he took office in 1984; prior to that date, one person held both the probate and clerk of court positions; and
Whereas, Judge Weinberg served as Mayor of Manning from 1960-68; during that time, he was elected president of the South Carolina Municipal Association; later, he was elected to two four-year terms as a Manning City Council member; and in 1994, he served as president of the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges; and
Whereas, he is well-known and greatly respected and admired across the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, he has been a superb probate judge and an overall excellent public servant throughout the years, and the citizens of Clarendon County and of the entire State are grateful for his devoted service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and thanks the Honorable Julien Weinberg, Judge of Probate of Clarendon County, for his dedicated public service and wishes him happiness and success following his retirement from office.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Judge Weinberg.
