The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God of power and mercy, our hearts are thankful that You daily extend to us overtures of Your love and concern. Give us eyes to see Your beckoning and ears to hear Your call. Keep ablaze within our minds and efforts a passion and a patriotism to be partners with You and with each other in building a civilization to please Your gracious and fatherly will. May our enthusiasm and ambition to promote our own welfare never degenerate into selfishness.

We pray to our God Who is altogether and totally righteous and just. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
